Using A Vegan Diet Weight Loss Program

When most people hear about a vegan diet, they either dont know what it is, or they think that it is weird. In reality, it is probably the purest way to eat in our modern times, mostly because of all of the impurities that can be found in our meats and dairy products. You would be amazed at all of the hormones, antibiotics and additives that are added to our beef and pork, simply in the name of getting the cow or pig to weigh more at market.

Vegan means that there will be no animal products in your diet, and that includes dairy. If you count the threat of GMO (genetically modified organisms) that constitute most of our crops these days, and then you figure that the dairy cows eat the silage from those crops, it makes you wonder if the milk you eventually get is the real thing.

The thing to do then, is get organic foods, which will give a much more nutritionally rich diet, and it will help you to lose weight. Think about it if the feedlots are feeding the beef hormones to make them gain weight, and then you eat the meat from the cow with the hormones, do think that you will lose weight?

If you cut out meat and dairy products, you will not get genetically treated products and you will eliminate a controversial source of pesticides, hormones, and antibiotics, that surely will enter your system as a residue from these animals.

There are plenty of good recipes that offer great tasting vegetable dishes. You would be surprised how good a Caesar salad in a big bowl will taste, and how quickly it will fill you up. You will also avoid processed foods, which are full if ingredients that no one can even pronounce and who knows what you are actually getting in the food. This would be a good start on a vegan diet weight loss program.

The best foods are those that come straight from the fields, such as fresh fruits and vegetables, beans, legumes, nuts and grains. Farmers markets are make a rebound all over the country, and for the most part they are selling produce that come from farmers fields. Another thing you can do is to take a drive out of town, if your life in the city and ask around if any farmers have produce stands at their farms.

Organic foods normally originate from a more nutrient dense soil that other foods that end up being processed foods. Obviously these nutrients will be passed on to you. You will actually be able to notice the difference in the taste and the fact that you will be filled up more quickly because you are getting more fiber, and you will tend to shed the pounds, because you will not be eating as much in the way of fats, starch, and sugar.

Once you have identified a food source, the next thing to do is get educated on a vegan diet weight loss program. Check out your public library, or online for sources and recipes, and you will be overwhelmed with information. Now you are armed to set your vegan diet weight loss plan into motion. Stick with it and you will be healthier and the pounds will melt off of your body.
