Safflower Oil Weight Loss

Is It The Safflower Oil Weight Loss Safe?

If we wish to lose weight the safe way, we can try the safflower oil weight loss program. Safflower oil comes from the seeds of safflower and it is a kind of polyunsaturated fat. It increases our metabolic rate and reduces our body fat. The seed is planted and harvested mainly to get its oil.

A study made in a university in Ohio that had a span of sixteen weeks involved people who took eight supplements daily. The supplements were divided into two pills before a meal and bedtime. In a day, they took around 1 2/3 teaspoon of safflower liquid oil. The subjects lost an average of 3.2% of the fat in their body.  The theory that the researchers got was that consuming safflower oil heightened adiponectin hormone production. This then stimulated fat burning in a quick way; thus, body fat was decreased and body weight was lowered.

Uses Of Safflower Oil

Many people use safflower oil for cooking because it is very healthy. There are also salad dressings and margarine that contain this oil. People also use this oil to mix paints and to replace white paint’s linseed oil. This is because safflower oil is cheaper with no pigments that would be combined with other paints.

Safflower oil also produces the important hormones which are needed by our bodies like the prostaglandins. The latter makes our body’s cells’ outer membranes stronger and will in turn increase the efficiency of our body’s processes.

Identifying Safflower Oil

Safflower oil resembles other oils and is considered the healthiest of them all. Because it looks like other oils, it can be hard for us to identify it without checking its chemical elements. It has no odor and color and can be recognized by the various fats it is composed of. Among the other oils such as coconut oil, safflower is less sticky since it is very light.

Forms Of Safflower Oil

Safflower oil has two types which originate from two kinds of safflowers. The first kind of safflower oil has mostly monounsaturated fatty acids which is healthier and is produced more. When compared to olive oil, it has lesser saturates. The second kind is made of mostly polyunsaturated fatty acids.

Many people take safflower oil in its liquid or supplement form. Because of its healthiness, safflower oil has been used in supplements for men and supplements for women.
